strom is right, i need to update.

i check my email at least 20 times a day.  is that normal?  i feel as though it is a bit obsessive.  i need to cut back.

i suppose this all stems from a lack of a hobby.  i need sometime to fill my time.  i take classes, do homework, hangout, and i am left with extra time.  i am looking for suggustions for a good hobby.

i have decided that life is to short to wear uncomfortable underwear.  i wear underwear almost everyday and wearing uncomfortable boxers simply does no good.  this weekend i plan on purging my drawers, assessing my needs, and shopping for a whole new supply of unmentionables.

in what can best be descibed as a vain attempt to regain perfect vision, i think i have overdosed on vitamin A.  alas, my desire for the perfect 20/20 blinded me to the medical perils that are at the bottom of every bag of baby carrots.  it is safe to say that i consumed at least 1000% of my recommend daily allowance of vitamin A.

both should terrify you.

even though i am not inspired to write an entry, i feel i must.
and i am bored.

i love sitting desk.  not really.  but all i do when i sit desk is listen to NPR, do crossword puzzles and eat oatmeal.  i feel like those three things make me very intellectual and academic.  i mean really, sitting and finishing a crossword while listening to jazz is cool.  and i’m getting paid for it.  better.

i also love eating.  i have decided that it is most likely my favorite thing to do.  i do not want to hear a whole bunch of fat jokes, but i suppose i opened myself to them.

i also love blankets.  and reading.  but no matter what jenny williams says, neither of those items are feminine.  they are gender-neutral.  everyone should love them.

i also love chuck norris.  i feel like i have not mentioned him in a while.

[i also love my mom and dad]

in conclusion, this is a very selfish entry.  i just wrote about things i love.  i’m sure you’re mad.  not mad that i am so selfish, but mad that you [unless you are my parents] are not on the list.

well, that’s life.

here is to the start of a new semester.

here is a quote that is on the syllabus to Advanced Analysis:
(please read it and reflect upon it)

Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses supreme beauty – a beauty cold and austere, like that of a sculpture, without appeal to any part of our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of painting or music, yet sublimely pure, and capable of stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show.  The true spirit of delight, the exaltation, the sense of being more than man, which is the touch-tone of higher excellence, is to be found in mathematics as surely as in poetry.
-Bertrand Russel

This leads to the point of this post.  I love Dr. Iverson.  That’s right, Alice Iverson.  She is one of the smartest people I know and her enthusiasm for math is overwhelming.

My favorite North Park professors:
1.  Alice Iverson
2. Cal Katter
3. Kurt Peterson
4. RJ Snell

any reflections on the reading?
additions/changes to the list of professors?

what i ate yesterday:

 – a small bowl of oatmeal.  i hate oatmeal, but i think it is good for me.  and i like people that eat oatmeal.  that is why i eat oatmeal.

 – a double hot dog at papa chris place with vicki smith.  they call is a double because they put 2 hot dogs in one bun.

 – 2 superdawgs with the incomparable peter strom and predictable tim murakami.  after a long day of quinzee building, nothing is better than more hotdogs.

[edit: i ate 2 more hot dogs tonight with meganjenny , and amy.  they have energetic young siblings.]

[the people i eat hot dogs list are great.  it is really like an all-star list of north park related people]

thus far, in the year 2005, i have eaten [13] hot dogs.  and i have eaten only 6 servings of vegetables.  i think i am going to keep a running total going all year.  my prediction in the end, both numbers will be around 500.

catch ya on the flip side.
